The Caravan is ready!

After 2 weeks with Hardings, the caravan has been picked up from a full service. $1870 later it has now had the brakes & bearings replaced, new jockey wheel clamp fitted, roof clamps replaced, bed end struts regassed, a solar point installed & many small items repaired. Also with a new deep cycle battery & a CTEK charger it is now ready for free/non powered camping. Only 4 weeks to go and just the car needs a service. Getting closer!

Preparation for the trip

Well we can finally say that we leave next month on our big Aussie trip. Hooray! It has been a long time in the making, but finally happening. As experienced caravaners I thought it would be easy to plan, but this time we don't want too much of a plan when travelling.  That may suprise many of you who know us too well!

It's all about flexibility & having the freedom to go anywhere, including free camping with no power. That has been the major preparation change with correctly setting up the car & caravan to be able to do this. Our pool table has been the preparation table - what else do we need for the trip is a common daily question? Maybe we need a second storey caravan!

We have received so much valuable advice from other travellers. I am sure we will take bits here & bits there and put together a trip of a lifetime! We can't wait, can we Michelle? Michelle says - "Just as long as the girl's take the time to keep up with their school work too". A diary will help!
